Argentine horned frog
Ceratophrys ornata
The other first frog they name. Sit-and-wait mouth. Clean water, honest feeding, a lid.
- Handling
- Minimal. They bite because that is how they eat. This is a display frog.
- Enclosure
- A wide, shallow box they can sit in, with a water dish they will not foul to death. Tight lid.
- Heat
- 75–82°F. They do not want a desert basking lamp.
- Humidity
- Damp substrate, fresh water. Stagnant water turns toxic fast.
- Diet
- Insects, occasional pinkie for adults. They will overeat if you let them.
White's or a horned frog. Pacmans rotate. Ask which mouth is actually eating.
