Bearded dragon
Pogona vitticeps
The handling lizard. Budget the UV and the heat before the animal.
- Handling
- One of the two lizards they will name if you want to hold something. Most lizards would rather be watched.
- Enclosure
- Adults want a long enclosure, not a tall one. Basking platform, hides, no wild-caught décor.
- Heat
- Basking 95–105°F. Cool side the high 70s. Night drop is fine.
- Humidity
- 30–40%. They fail wet.
- Diet
- Greens every day, insects on a schedule. Calcium and UVB are the actual food.
Leo or beardie. Bring photos of the fixture, not just the tank.
